さらに穿った見方をすると、ファンサバーたちはシリコンバレー的IT技術者のメンタリティと同じものを持っているように見える。いわばGoogle がインターネットプラットフォームの分野で、YouTubeが動画視聴の分野で、そしてNapsterが音楽の分野でやったようなことを、ファンサバー達はアニメの分野でやろうとしているのではないか、と考えることもできる。
GoogleやYouTube、Napsterなどはいずれも自らのIT技術を頼りに既存のマーケットに参入し、違法行為すれすれ（あるいは違法行為そのもの）のサービスを展開してそのマーケットの既存のプレイヤーから非難を浴びながらも、しかし確かにそれらのマーケットの構造を変えてきた。その変化が「良い」ものであったか「悪い」ものであったかはともかくとして、少なくとも彼らによってユーザーの利便性が飛躍的に向上したことは否定できないだろう。
そのことと、ファンサバーが既存のアニメ企業から蛇蠍のごとく嫌われながらもそれでもファンの「今すぐ観たい」ニーズに応え、ファンのアニメアクセスを拡大する存在として一定の二律背反的なきわどい存在感をアメリカのアニメマーケットで発揮していることとは、パラレルの関係にあると思うのだ。
